The Issue

Supporting Adoption of Ordinance 2026-15 to Amend Honeystash Operating Hours to 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. — Borough of Metuchen, NJ

To the Honorable Mayor and Members of the Metuchen Borough Council:

We, the undersigned residents of Metuchen, are in support of Honeystash (700 Middlesex Avenue, Metuchen, NJ), a licensed cannabis retailer serving the Metuchen community. We write in support of Ordinance 2026-15, introduced by the Borough Council on September 14, 2026, which would amend Section 72-5(C)(2) of the Borough Code to permit licensed cannabis retail facilities, including Honeystash, to operate from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight), daily, in place of the current 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. hours. Many residents — including shift workers, healthcare staff, first responders, and hospitality employees — are unable to visit this legal, licensed local business during its current hours. We are continually grateful that the Council of Metuchen shows support to small businesses such as HoneyStash, and keeps its residents and the economies best interests in mind.

This is a voluntary petition of community support presented to the Borough Council. It is not a formal referendum petition under N.J.S.A. 40:49-27 and does not, by itself, compel any action by the Council.

By signing below, I certify that I am 21 years of age or older, that I am a genuine customer and/or resident of Metuchen, and that the information I provide is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I support the adoption of Ordinance 2026-15, permitting Honeystash to operate from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) daily. Signatures and contact information collected here will be used solely to present this petition to the Metuchen Borough Council and will not be sold, shared, or used for marketing purposes.
