The Issue

* We are not asking for donations - just your signature! Any donations made on this site go to Change.org, not Friends of Slumber Falls. *

As former and current SFC campers, staff, parents, directors, and volunteers, we ask you to join us in support of the offer to purchase SFC presented by us, Friends of Slumber Falls, and that was recently endorsed by the Camp Council

Friends of Slumber Falls is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation created to preserve the rich history and ministry of Slumber Falls Camp. We are a group with a combined total of more than 275 years at the camp, and we are uniquely positioned to guide Slumber Falls into the future. The Friends Board is composed of members with deep experience in nonprofit leadership, business, engineering, and camp leadership.

Our mission is to connect people with the power of God’s creation and the abundance of our natural world through providing exceptional outdoor ministry programs at Slumber Falls Camp that inspire, build, and strengthen relationships with God, each other, and nature all while grounded in the values, beliefs, and vision of the United Church of Christ.

On Thursday, March 9, the Board of Friends of Slumber Falls (FSF) presented the South Central Conference Board of Directors an official offer to purchase Slumber Falls Camp (SFC). The $3,142,750 offer presented was made possible through funds from our primary donor and reflects the appraised value of Slumber Falls Camp on the current Comal County Property Tax roll.

For more information about Friends of Slumber Falls, the timeline of events, and our offer, please visit the website www.friendsofslumberfalls.org

This is a win-win for the conference & the camp. We ask for your prayerful consideration and support of this offer being presented by Friends of Slumber Falls. By adding your signature you can help us show the SCC Board of Directors this offer has a wide base of support across the conference and beyond. Thank you.
