My name is Sarah McClure, and I am a 2022 alum of Rowan University. During my senior year, I started Project Period with my friend Logan Johnson, now known as Flow Forward. Our mission was to get free period products in the bathrooms at Rowan. We are still trying to achieve that mission, due to setbacks from the University. Rowan students deserve to bleed free from stress. We have been stocking some of the bathrooms but that shouldn't be the students' responsibility.

DID YOU KNOW: 55% of respondents in our 2022 study at Rowan said that they experience period poverty. 68% of respondents said they've spent a significant amount of time on campus trying to find a free product when they suddenly get their period.

We were able to pass Resolution #2022-001 last Spring showing that the Student Senate was in favor by 93% (125 Y-3 N-6 A). We know that many students do not engage with the Senate so we need your signature to show the University that this isn't just an SGA issue.

We are still working on this, and we need your help to show Rowan University and the Student Government how Rowan students need access to these products easily. Periods cannot be planned. They are as common and frequent as other bodily functions whose products are readily available to students. Students should not be expected to go up to a desk and ask for a product. We know it's embarrassing. We can't end the stigma, but we can solve the problem.

ROWAN UNIVERSITY--this is a call to action! YOU are falling behind while other universities do what you have been asked to do time and time again. You could have made headlines as the first school in New Jersey to implement this in the past 4 years. Only one other school  These machines are not hard to purchase, install, or maintain. Show the students that you care for their well-being.

WE ARE NOT THE FIRST, BUT WE WILL BE THE LAST. 

Our team is currently working on a research project and plans that we will be presenting to SGA and the University to implement Aunt Flow machines outside the first-floor bathrooms in the academic buildings.
