The Concern- There was a public advisory meeting (open to the public) on June 21 to discuss many facets of what is happening at and around the Blue springs state park. The proposed plan is to gate off access to French landing. This means that for the thousands of Orange city residents who enjoy swimming, photography, kayaking etc, will no longer be able to do so at this location. 

The current understanding is that the land on either side of French landing was sold to Blue springs State park by Volusia county. It is also understood that that boat ramp was paid for by tax payers and was sold with the stipulation of the access to remain consistent. Volusia county will be in charge of permitting this gate and should be one of the first places we go as residents to block this action.
