We, the undersigned parents, guardians, and members of the Ashford Park Elementary School community, express our full support for Principal Tonya Freeman.

We are deeply concerned by the recent public allegations that do not reflect the reality we have experienced in this school. As active participants in our children’s education and well-being, many of us have had the opportunity to witness Principal Freeman’s leadership firsthand — consistently characterized by fairness, integrity, and a deep commitment to inclusivity and student welfare.

Our teachers, too, work tirelessly to create a positive, supportive learning environment for all students. They collaborate closely with families, provide excellent educational opportunities, and demonstrate a genuine care for each child’s growth, regardless of ethnic background.

The narrative currently being shared in the media is not representative of the broader experience of our diverse school community. While every family’s voice matters and every concern deserves to be heard, we believe it is equally important to ensure a complete and truthful picture is represented.

Ashford Park, Principal Freeman, school leaders and staff, and our community work tirelessly to provide a safe and equitable environment and ensure that all students are given the opportunity to succeed. Principal Freeman's leadership has helped our school grow stronger each and every year. She has developed a positive school culture and climate that can be felt the minute you walk in the front doors. Her professionalism and clear communication, her support of teachers and families, and her dedication to every student of all ethnic backgrounds is unmatched. She is a true leader deserving of the continued recognition she has received. 

We urge the school district, community leaders, and the media to allow due process to unfold and to consider the many voices of support that exist within this school community.
