We, the students of UC Davis, would like to express our love and support for Dr. Lauren Liets. Her passion, extensive knowledge, and ability to engage with students have made her one of the most beloved and sought out professors in the NPB department.  Not only has Dr. Liets been contributing to the university as a faculty member for nearly twenty years, but also as a graduate student in the 1990’s. Her dedication to education and the students of this campus should be celebrated and reflected in her position here at the University of California, Davis.

The NPB major is unique to UC Davis but would not have its current reputation without professors like Dr. Liets teaching its constitutive courses. We, by signing our names below, attest to the profound effect Dr. Liets has upon her students and the NPB major and request that she continue teaching at UC Davis beyond Spring Quarter of 2018. Her departure from the university would be a great disservice to all students and the NPB department.

We will be bringing this up in a meeting with Dr. John Harada on Friday, May 12, 2017. Details will be posted soon after.
