Good Afternoon! I've heard from many of you that wanted to know what the latest news was. We've had a few interactions with the board and administration since the hearings and I wanted to share a little about what is happening behind the scenes with our efforts. First, based on the interactions I've had, I am optimistic that our voices are being heard and considered. The district administration is actively processing the feedback they received at the 3 public hearings. They took detailed notes and looked into everything that was presented. The district requested that the demographer run some additional scenarios that account for our feedback so that multiple plans could be reviewed side-by-side internally. The demographer has not responded with updated scenarios yet so there isn't anything to report on there. I personally gave the feedback that the public needs to hear from the district and that "no news" will likely be interpreted as "bad news" just because that's how our minds work. I'm hoping they provide something as soon as they have something to share. It's a fine line of being radio silent and over communicating the inner workings of where this is going. We want to respect that they have a job to do but that we also deserve to be informed. We also received some specific feedback on our proposal. I've been working with our team to update the proposal to include Old Town staying at Walsh and to address the new concerns I heard today. I hope to update our website soon and will send another status update out to you when that is ready. We have to present an updated plan to the district and we were told that they will put it side-by-side with the data they have to see where we are/aren't aligned. Thanks everyone!
