Objective: To address the resistance faced by Ravana Odyssey in Ella Sri Lanka, the world's first double-decker nature tour, initiated to enhance tourism experiences in Sri Lanka, and to combat the monopolistic behavior of certain groups hampering progress and innovation in the tourism sector.

Background: We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the recent resistance and obstruction faced by the Ravana Odyssey initiative, a progressive and legitimate business venture aiming to elevate the tourism experience in Ella. Unfortunately, the emergence of a monopolistic attitude, predominantly among tuk-tuk and taxi drivers, has led to road closures and protests, hindering the commencement of this innovative double-decker nature tour.

Key Points:

• Monopolistic Obstruction: The resistance from tuk-tuk and taxi drivers claiming potential loss of business due to Ravana Odyssey is impeding progress and innovation in the tourism industry.
• Mafia-Like Behavior: The narrow-minded approach and monopolistic behavior of certain groups in Ella are preventing external businesses from operating, significantly restricting competition and consumer choice.
• Tourism Enhancement: Ravana Odyssey plays a pivotal role in the advancement of Sri Lanka's tourism industry, aligning with the government's goal of attracting 5 million tourists annually.

Request to the Honorable President: We, the undersigned, respectfully urge the Honorable President Ranil Wickramasinghe to:

• Investigate and address the monopolistic behavior obstructing Ravana Odyssey and similar initiatives in the tourism sector.
• Take decisive actions to ensure fair competition and allow businesses like Ravana Odyssey to operate freely in designated tourist areas.
• Uphold the vision of a progressive and competitive tourism sector that encourages innovation and enhances Sri Lanka's global tourism appeal.

Conclusion: The undersigned individuals believe that fostering an environment conducive to fair competition and innovation in the tourism industry is paramount for the growth and prosperity of Sri Lanka. We implore the Honorable President to take swift and necessary actions to eliminate monopolistic practices hindering the progress of ventures like Ravana Odyssey.

ඇල්ල ප්‍රදේශයේ සංචාරක අත්දැකීම් නවමු මානයකට ඉහළ නැංවීමේ අරමුණින් ප්‍රගතිශීලී සහ නීත්‍යානුකූල ව්‍යාපාරයක් වන රාවණා ඔඩිසි හෙවත් තට්ටු දෙකේ සංචාරක බස් රථ ව්‍යාපෘතියට එහි ආරම්භයේදී එල්ල වූ ප්‍රතිරෝධය සහ බාධාවන් පිළිබඳව දැඩි කනස්සල්ලට පත්ව සිටිමු. ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් ත්‍රීරෝද රථ සහ කුලී රථ රියදුරන් අතර ඒකාධිකාරයක් පැවතීම, මෙම නවමු තට්ටු දෙකේ විවෘත සංචාරක බස් රථයේ ස්වභාවික චාරිකාවේ (Nature Tour) ආරම්භයට බාධා කරමින්, මාර්ග වසා දැමීම් සහ විරෝධතාවලට තුඩු දී ඇත. රටක් වශයෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට සංචාරක ආකර්ශණය වෙන කවරදාටත් වඩා අවශ්‍ය මොහොතක නව අදහස් ඇති ව්‍යාපෘති වලට අකුල් හෙලන මෙවැනි බාධාවන් වලට විරෝධය පළකිරීමට ඔබත් කැමති නම් මේ සබැඳියෙන් පිවිස අත්සන් කරන ලෙස ඉල්ලා සිටිමු.
