The Issue

San Benito County continues to grow, and our community deserves modern library, educational, and community learning resources that can serve residents for generations to come.

We respectfully request that San Benito County leaders explore opportunities to expand library services and evaluate long-term solutions that address the educational, technological, and community needs of our growing population.

Potential options could include:

Option 1: New County Library at Santana Ranch
Exploring the development of a new San Benito County Library and Community Resource Center on approximately 10.92 acres located at Hillcrest Road and Fairview Road within the Santana Ranch development, including:

APN 025-720-020
APN 025-720-030
APN 025-720-040
APN 025-720-050
APN 025-720-060
Option 2: Joint Library and Learning Center Partnership
Exploring a partnership between the San Benito County Free Library, Gavilan College Hollister, local educational institutions, and community organizations to create a shared library and learning center that could provide:

Expanded public library services
College and student study spaces
Public computer and technology access
Workforce development resources
Adult education opportunities
Community meeting facilities
Children's literacy programs
Community events and cultural programming
