The Issue

Coyote Gulch Park has long been a beloved community space for families, friends, and individuals looking to enjoy the outdoors and spend quality time together. Our park has seen countless sunny afternoons filled with laughter and play, providing a safe haven for recreation and relaxation. However, to better serve our community and enhance our shared space, we are reaching out to gather neighborhood support for the addition of new features at Coyote Gulch Park.

We are currently applying for a grant that will allow us to introduce a new spinning playground feature, which promises endless fun for children of all ages, and an additional picnic table that caters to families looking for a spot to gather and eat while enjoying the park's scenic surroundings. These additions aim not only to improve the functionality of the park but also to foster a stronger sense of community by providing improved amenities for all.

Receiving this grant depends heavily on demonstrating solid support from our neighborhood. By signing this petition, you're not just voicing your support for these important upgrades, but you're also helping us create a clear case to the grant committee that these features are highly anticipated and wanted by those who frequent the park.

Let's come together to make Coyote Gulch Park an even greater asset for the community. By supporting this initiative, you are directly contributing to the betterment of our shared environment and the enrichment of the local community's quality of life. Sign this petition today and help us secure the funding needed to bring these exciting new features to Coyote Gulch Park!

More information about the grant and previous recipients can be found here: https://www.lakewoodco.gov/Local-Government/Departments/Sustainability-and-Community-Development/Comprehensive-Planning-Main/Neighborhood-Participation-Program

FYI - there is no need to contribute to the “chip in” option when you submit your signature. That money actually goes to the website behind this, not to our campaign. There is no plan to fundraise at this point, but if our grant is accepted it’s something we might consider depending on the equipment that gets approved.

I appreciate you reaching out. I have relayed this to the Ward 4 Councilors, and I will also get this over to Community Resources, to see if they can work this into the budget. I know money is tight right now, but there may be grants that might be helpful.
