Petition to the Spring Hill Board of Mayor & Aldermen:

Spring Hill is a wonderful place to live because of the local businesses that invest in our community, create jobs, and serve our families.

Today, many existing businesses are unable to grow because of the city's sewer moratorium—even when their expansions would have only a minimal impact on the wastewater system.

One example is Pooch Playhouse & Boarding, a locally owned business that has served Spring Hill families for more than 20 years. Our proposed expansion would allow us to care for more dogs, create additional local jobs, and better serve the community while increasing sewer demand by less than 3,000 gallons per day—a tiny fraction of the city's overall wastewater capacity.

We understand why the City must carefully manage sewer capacity, and we support responsible planning. We are not asking the City to ignore the moratorium.

Instead, we are asking the City to establish a fair process that allows existing local businesses with minimal sewer impact to responsibly expand when capacity becomes available.

We respectfully ask the City of Spring Hill to:

• Create a clear pathway for existing local businesses seeking modest expansions.
• Prioritize projects that create local jobs and serve Spring Hill residents.
• Consider the relative sewer impact of each project rather than treating all projects the same.
• Provide transparency regarding future wastewater capacity allocations, including capacity that may become available through regional solutions or infrastructure improvements.
• Continue supporting responsible economic development while protecting the City's long-term infrastructure.

Spring Hill has invested in businesses that make this community a great place to live. Existing businesses should have the opportunity to grow alongside the city they have helped build.
