Support Efforts to Save Englishtown Lake (Lake Weamaconk)
The Issue
When my wife, our two boys along with my wife's parents moved to Englishtown, it was not just the charming, close-knit community that drew us in; it was the promise of the serene Englishtown Lake that captured our hearts. The lake, a local historic site, has been a sanctuary for our family and a treasured natural gem for our community. It offers us the joy of bird watching; where majestic bald eagles, ospreys, hooded mergansers, and double-breasted cormorants gracefully soar the skies. It is a place where fishing and boating aren't just activities, but a way of life for us and our neighbors. We even started a YouTube channel exploring the lake life and enjoyment of the outdoors (@Desch In The Wild)
Located within a short walking distance for all Englishtown residents, Englishtown Lake (Lake Weamaconk) is more than just a body of water. It’s a gathering place for friends and families, a source of tranquility and recreation, and an essential part of our community's heritage and ecosystem.
Sadly, this invaluable lake is now under threat. Without immediate intervention, we risk losing not only the lake but also the diverse wildlife that depends on it and the countless memories yet to be made by future generations.
Our community can rally together to ensure that the lake remains a safe haven for both people and wildlife for years to come. With your support, we can explore sustainable solutions, such as conservation initiatives, partnerships with environmental organizations, and local government engagement to preserve this beloved part of Englishtown.
Please stand with us in our commitment to protect and preserve Englishtown Lake (Lake Weamaconk). Join our cause and sign this petition to ensure that this beloved lake remains a vibrant part of our community for generations to come. Your support can make a lasting difference.
