The time for change is now. I am so proud and enthused to be embarking on this next journey of being the next Commissioner for New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYS DOCCS).

New York is my home and the home of many people who are impacted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. But regardless of whether you're employed, in custody, under supervision, a victim or impacted by the NYS DOCCS organization, we have to admit there is a problem within our correctional system that requires real and responsive leadership.

We need to ensure that all voices are at the forefront of all the issues we are addressing within the NYS DOCCS organization.  Since I started working in the criminal justice arena over 32 years ago, I have worked hard and tirelessly to improve the lives of all people impacted by the criminal justice system.

Now it is time for me to take on the role as Commissioner for New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision so that I can
utilize my vast knowledge and expertise to make direct and positive impact on the lives of everyone who is impacted by NYS DOCCS.
