If specified needs are not met for our teachers, there is potential for Dearborn to lose veteran teachers to retirement, other higher paying districts or districts with better working conditions. Our students cannot afford to lose quality educators. 

The Lindbergh PTA board, The Dearborn PTA Council, along with individual Dearborn schools PTA board members, many PTA members and parents of DPS students, stands in support of the teachers of Dearborn, and asks the Dearborn Public School District to offer support that meets the specified needs of our teachers.

Taking care of our teachers means addressing the following important issues: providing more planning Time (because of increased curriculum needs), Equity, Accountability, Compensation and Health. The district needs to make the top teacher salary commensurate with surrounding districts. Our complete letter with all detailed requests can be found HERE.
