Support Daniel Brown's Sentence Modification

Support Daniel Brown's Sentence Modification
The Issue
My name is Daniel Dumond Brown Sr., and I am 40 years of age. For the past 15 years, I have been incarcerated, serving a 50-year sentence for two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action. Despite the nature of my past, I take full responsibility for my actions and am sincerely committed to change. Through my journey, I have embraced my role as a family man and a Muslim, striving to become a better person and a positive influence on those around me.
My current sentence comprises two 25-year terms set to run consecutively rather than concurrently. This decision has extended my time away from my loved ones, deeply impacting not only my life but also the lives of my fiancée, parents, children, grandchildren, siblings, and nieces and nephews. As someone who has distanced himself from previous negative associations and influences, I am pleading for an opportunity to demonstrate my growth and rehabilitation.
Life has granted me a precious chance to transform—from an ex-gang member to a positive role model and pillar in my community. However, the current structure of my sentence is a significant barrier, delaying my return to a life where I can contribute positively to my loved ones and to society.
I am in the process of filing for clemency to have my sentences run concurrently, thereby allowing me to reduce the time spent in incarceration and reunite with my family sooner. I am committed to upholding the values of responsibility and accountability, and I believe that a concurrent sentence reflects both punishment and humane rehabilitation.
I understand that my request is significant and may seem audacious, but it is rooted in a genuine desire for change and redemption. I kindly ask for your support in my clemency petition in hopes of receiving an adjusted sentence that accurately reflects both the actions I’ve taken since my incarceration and my aspirations for the future.
Please lend your signature and support to this petition that advocates for hope, transformation, and a second chance at life. Thank you for your time and consideration.
