🌍 Earth Day Update: Our Fight for our LIC Gantry Urban Farm Stand Continues

This Earth Day, we’re feeling the power of our community and as federal freezes continue for farmers, the urgency of our mission.
Our April 10th press conference was a huge success. We stood together with community members, leaders, and Connected Chef staff and volunteers to demand that our Urban Farm Stand remain in Long Island City. Your voices helped bring attention to the need for equitable food access in our neighborhood.
But the work is far from over.
We are still actively searching for a new location to host our LIC Gantry Urban Farm Stand. Despite multiple outreach efforts, we have not received any response from the developer. This silence speaks volumes and underscores exactly why community-rooted spaces like ours must be protected.
We’re continuing to work closely with our local electeds to identify and secure a new permanent home for our LIC Gantry Urban Farm Stand. The goal remains the same: to ensure fresh, locally grown food, sourced from BIPOC-owned farms, remains accessible to Queens families.
Food justice is climate justice. Thank you for standing with us. Please keep sharing the petition and spreading the word. We are not giving up.
