Dear Government of India and Government of Kerala,

Subject: Request to Expedite the Development of Erumely Airport

I am writing to respectfully request that the Government of India and the Government of Kerala give urgent attention to the development and completion of Erumely Airport in Kerala.

If Erumely Airport becomes operational, it would provide significant benefits to people living outside Kerala, as well as to residents and travelers from Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam, and parts of Kollam and Alappuzha districts. The airport would greatly improve access to central Kerala and reduce the time, cost, and inconvenience associated with traveling to airports located far away.

Erumely is an important pilgrimage and tourism destination, particularly because of its close connection to Sabarimala. The airport would serve millions of pilgrims, domestic and international travelers, non-resident Keralites, and families visiting their hometowns. It would also support the economic development of the surrounding regions.

The development of Erumely Airport would:

* Provide convenient air access to Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam, and parts of Kollam and Alappuzha districts.
* Benefit non-resident Keralites traveling from India and abroad.
* Make travel easier for senior citizens, families, and passengers with medical or mobility needs.
* Support pilgrims visiting Sabarimala and other religious destinations.
* Promote tourism and business throughout central Kerala.
* Create employment and investment opportunities for local communities.
* Reduce congestion at airports in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and other nearby cities.
* Improve transportation infrastructure in one of Kerala’s most important regions.
* Strengthen connections between Kerala and other parts of India and the world.
* Benefit the travel agencies, transportation providers, hotels, restaurants, and other businesses operated by Keralites.

Many people from Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam, and neighboring areas currently have to travel long distances by road to reach an airport. This creates considerable hardship, especially during peak pilgrimage seasons, holidays, monsoon conditions, and periods of heavy traffic. Erumely Airport would provide a much-needed alternative and make the region more accessible.

We respectfully request that the Government of India and the Government of Kerala:

* Expedite all pending approvals and administrative procedures.
* Complete the necessary land acquisition and infrastructure work.
* Coordinate closely with the Airports Authority of India and other relevant agencies.
* Provide regular public updates regarding the project’s progress.
* Explore suitable domestic and international flight connections.
* Ensure that the airport is developed with modern facilities, reliable transportation links, and adequate passenger capacity.

If this project becomes a reality, it will be a major benefit not only to the people of central Kerala but also to Keralites living outside the state and abroad. It would improve travel convenience, strengthen regional development, and create lasting economic and social benefits for generations to come.

We sincerely request both governments to treat the development of Erumely Airport as a priority and take all necessary steps to bring the project to completion as soon as possible.
