We, the undersigned, stand in full support of Coach Sidney Parkes, whose leadership and dedication have been transformative for youth football in our community.

Under his guidance this season, the U14 Fall Burlington Stampeders achieved an undefeated season and a provincial championship victory. 

However, it is not the results on the field that set Coach Parkes apart, but the way he coached: fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, personal growth, accountability, resilience, organization and attention to detail. His ability to develop young athletes both as players and as individuals is at a level rarely seen in youth sports.

It has come to our attention that actions are being considered that could prevent or negatively impact Coach Parkes from continuing his work within and on behalf of Football Ontario. 

We believe such measures are not only unwarranted but also deeply harmful to our players, families, and the integrity of our football community across the province  

We urge Football Ontario and all relevant parties to:

 1. Refrain from taking any action that would ban or inhibit Coach Parkes from his role as a coach and mentor.

 2. Provide a clear and transparent explanation for any actions or allegations made against him.

 3. Commit to fair, unbiased, and transparent processes for addressing concerns or disputes involving coaches, ensuring decisions are made in the best interest of the players and the sport.

Coach Parkes has demonstrated a standard of performance, commitment, and care that goes far beyond the norm in youth sports. His focus on building character and inspiring young athletes makes him an invaluable asset to our community across the province of Ontario.
