Hello, this is Caleb Pate - a 17-year-old with hope from Bakersfield, California. I am deciding to run for California Governor in 2026 to fight for the true change we all need and deserve in areas such as Housing, Agriculture, and Education. My campaign isn't backed by deep pockets but by a profound hunger for amplified voices, fair treatment, and social progress.

Raised in a modest setting and being a young aspirant, I understand the everyday struggles of an average Californian. The housing crisis is one of them. With the median home price in California of $712,430, according to the California Association of Realtors, housing remains unaffordable for many residents.

In addition to housing, our great state's Agriculture sector needs revamped attention. As per the USDA, California remains the leading agricultural state in the nation, contributing about 13% of the country's total agricultural value. However, we need to promote wealth and provide more support to our farmers. I plan to lower land taxes, and other taxes, on farmers to help them build wealth.

Our education system is completely flawed, even on a national level. A serious and immediate change is needed if we don't want america to fall into collapse due to an unintelligent population. Students don't even want to learn anymore, which is terrible seeing as children are well known for constantly asking questions, showcasing the critical need for reforms.
