We have been meeting with other leaders of Cambridge Youth Sports Leagues to form a coalition, because a revitalized Ahern will be good for all us: multi use, safe, durable, field space including turfed baseball field;  new ice rink surface; new basketball surface; new playgrounds,  water play, gathering areas and picnic spots.

Pictures attached are of Sennott in 2024, 6 months after being re-opened following re-sodding and resting for 18 months.  The second is 24 months later in May 2026.  Now some will say just maintain it better,  but the facts are a high use, urban field with more than 600-800 hours of use in a year, cannot be maintained regardless of maintenance schedule. Grass limits use; Field turf expands it.
