The Issue

Mansfield, OH, like many towns, thrives on growth, development, and opportunities that can enhance the community's economic landscape. An opportunity has presented itself with Buc-ee's, a renowned convenience store chain popular for their expansive selections and clean facilities, planning to invest 50 million dollars to build their new gas station and convenience store here. For our community, this presents more than just another business; it's a chance for economic revitalization.

This massive Buc-ee’s Travel Center is planned near the I-71/Ohio 39 interchange. The building will be 70,000 SF and they will have over 100 gas pumps at the site.

This investment would generate significant revenue for Mansfield, ensuring a consistent stream of income that can contribute to public services, 15 million dollars in infrastructure improvements, (paid for by Buc-ee's) and community projects. The addition of Buc-ee's could also mean an influx of 200 jobs for local residents, from construction roles during the building phase to long-term positions once the store is open. This would significantly decrease the unemployment rate in our area, boosting our local economy and improving the quality of life for countless families.

Madison is one of the townships that will reap taxes from this new development. They have had failed tax levies for years and are begging for voters to aid them the November elections. Here is a beautiful solution.

The land at this abandoned exit has been sitting for years without any development.

Buc-ee's is known not only for its wide variety of products and great prices but also for its commitment to being a part of the community it serves. Building in Mansfield means more than just another business opening its doors; it means a commitment to the people, the businesses, and the future of our town.

Let’s not miss this opportunity to support an establishment that will invest heavily in our are's future. By embracing this development, we are choosing prosperity and growth for the Mansfield area and Richland county. Let’s show Buc-ee's that Mansfield is a place ready for investment, promising a warm welcome to businesses that see our potential.

Please add your name to this petition and join us in supporting Buc-ee's building in Mansfield, OH. Your signature is vital in demonstrating our unified community support and ensuring this fantastic opportunity becomes a reality. Stand with us for a brighter future for the Mansfield area!

MANSFIELD — A massive Buc-ee’s Travel Center is planned near the I-71/Ohio 39 interchange, local and company officials confirmed Monday afternoon.

The sprawling retail center could mean more than 200 new, full-time jobs in the area at a site that could encompass more than 70,000 square feet.

The Texas-based company a favorite since it was founded 44 years ago.

Along with its famous beaver mascot, Buc-ee’s has competitive wages and benefits for its workers, according to published reports. The company has opened its first Ohio location on April 6 in Huber Heights, near Dayton.

The project has been months in the making and includes cooperative efforts among the city of Mansfield, Richland County officials and trustees in Madison and Mifflin Township.
