The Issue

Baltimore RPM — Ride • Protect • Motivate

Baltimore has a long and deeply rooted dirt bike culture, but riders currently have limited legal places where they can safely ride. This has contributed to dirt bikes being ridden on public streets, creating safety concerns for riders, pedestrians, motorists, and our communities.

Baltimore RPM — Ride • Protect • Motivate is a proposed large-scale, safe and legal dirt bike park designed for riders of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.

Our goal is to create a permanent destination where Baltimore’s dirt bike culture has a place to exist legally instead of being pushed entirely onto public streets.

Baltimore RPM would be more than a small riding area. The vision is to develop a large, professionally operated dirt bike park that is open year-round, giving riders a dedicated place to ride, practice, improve their skills, enjoy their bikes, and come together as a community.

The proposed Baltimore RPM Dirt Bike Park would focus on:

Providing a large, designated and controlled location for legal dirt bike riding
Welcoming riders of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels
Operating year-round, rather than only as a seasonal program
Helping reduce dangerous and illegal dirt bike riding on Baltimore streets by providing riders with another option
Creating different riding areas and spaces for different experience levels
Requiring appropriate safety equipment and enforcing park safety rules
Providing an environment where riders can practice and enjoy dirt bikes without putting pedestrians or motorists at risk
Building positive relationships between riders, families, communities, businesses, organizations, and public safety professionals
Providing transportation options for dirt bikes so riders do not have to illegally ride through the city to reach the facility
Creating a destination that recognizes and celebrates Baltimore’s unique dirt bike culture
Baltimore RPM is about giving riders somewhere to go.

We understand that creating a dirt bike park will not completely eliminate illegal street riding. But providing a legal alternative gives riders a choice that Baltimore currently lacks.

Instead of only asking:

How do we stop dirt bikes from riding on Baltimore streets?

We should also be asking:

Where are riders supposed to legally ride?

Baltimore has an opportunity to take a culture that already exists and create something safer, organized, legal, and accessible to people from different communities and generations.

This is not about one age group.

This is not about one neighborhood.

This is not about replacing or competing with existing Baltimore programs.

Baltimore RPM is about creating a major, year-round dirt bike destination for riders of all ages and all backgrounds.

We are asking Baltimore residents, riders, parents, community leaders, businesses, public safety professionals, motorcycle and dirt bike organizations, and supporters to sign this petition in support of developing Baltimore RPM and working with Baltimore City officials and community partners to identify a safe and realistic location for the park.

Our Goal: 10,000 Signatures

Every signature helps demonstrate that Baltimore residents, riders, and supporters are ready to have a serious conversation about creating a legal alternative to street riding.

This is more than a park. This is a movement.

Sign the petition and help us bring Baltimore RPM — Ride • Protect • Motivate Dirt Bike Park to life.
