The Issue

As a frequent patron of our beloved B&B Lounge  in Dayton, OH, this is not just any bar; it's a cornerstone for many of us. My family and I regularly dine there, enjoying the warm and inviting atmosphere. It's a place where memories are made, where laughter is shared, and where community bonds are strengthened. More than just a spot for social gatherings, it's a beacon of support for many in our community. Here staff and patrons become a family!

Several of my colleagues work at this bar, or have worked during a time of need- and for them, it's not just a job—it's their livelihood. The income they earn supports their families, pays for essentials, and drives our local economy. Furthermore, this establishment is a black-owned business, contributing to the diversity and richness of our neighborhood. In a mixed community like Dayton, celebrating such diversity is more important than ever.

Beyond its immediate contributions, the bar has been a generous supporter of local charitable initiatives. With their involvement in fundraisers and coat drives, they've shown commitment to uplifting those in need.

Unfortunately, B&B is now facing an objection to its liquor license renewal. Without this license, the very essence of what makes this bar special is under threat. The loss of its liquor license could potentially lead to its closure, stripping away a community hub and the livelihood of those employed there.

We're urging local authorities to reconsider this objection. The benefits of keeping the bar open with its liquor license intact vastly outweigh any potential drawbacks. Such a decision will continue to strengthen our community, support local families, and foster the inclusive environment Dayton is known for. Much work has been done with staff undergoing several trainings to increase their knowledge and changes in standard procedures including a new security protocol and changes in the daily operations to address the concerns of the local authorities, neighborhood and safety of our patrons

Please join me in showing our support for B&B Lounge by signing this petition. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that our local bar remains a pillar of the Dayton community. Let's stand united in championing a business that has done so much for all of us. Sign today and help preserve an essential part of our community.
