The animals in our community need your help to SAVE their lives. The city is proceeding to give the animal control contract to another individual, who has not agreed to be NO KILL.  Animals First Temiskaming Shores & Area Animal Services is NO KILL and has adopted out over 500 animals, sent to partner rescues over 300 animals and spayed and neutered 674 cats, 70 dogs and 9 rabbits.  This is how you control the stray cat and problem dog issues. These animals are helpless beings who rely on us to keep them safe and we have proven time and time again that we don't always come through for them.  We need your help as a community RIGHT NOW to sign this petition in support of keeping Animals First open to ensure the safety of the animals in our community.  THIS IS OUR COMMUNITY and we have a say as to how things should be.  Animals First and its volunteers are committed to develop the needed resources to be a No Kill facility, which means saving as many animal lives as possible through fostering, adopting, partnering, educating and spay/neutering as many animals as possible.  In the last three years, this has been proven to work, as the number of animals on the street and entering the shelter and kittens being born have drastically been reduced.  So many lives have been saved because of the care and compassion that has been provided for every animal life that comes through those doors.  In the past, most of the animals were killed and they didn't die a good death.  We, as a community must be their voice and not allow anything but NO KILL in our community and Animals First has proven they can deliver.  This service is now facing the possibility of no longer being supported by the city.  Just as we would for other causes, lets stand together and let the city know that we will not stand for NOT having a NO KILL facility in the community.  Please sign the petition and let the city of Temiskaming Shores know that we only trust Animals First to do our animal control and keep our animals safe and give them a second chance.  STAND UP, SPEAK UP AND BE THEIR VOICE and share, share, share.
