Owner of the HB Corner Market located in downtown Huntington Beach (corner of 11th and Acacia), Suzanne Iacono, and the landlords for this historical property, Ashley Schrimpf & Carly Christy have built a community staple that not only attracts local patrons, but also includes customers who will drive in from outside communities to enjoy this neighborhood gem.  To say this is just another place to eat in Huntington Beach is overlooking what the HB Corner Market truly is to this community.  It is a place that people start their day, gather to share a smile, exchange stories about family, meet up with fellow pet owners, meet up for "coffee talk" and, most importantly, decide what deliciousness will one partake in that day.  To say it simply, HB Corner Market is the epitome of what defines community.

Unfortunately, over the last 5-6 years, Suzanne, Ashley and Carly have been plagued with multiple code enforcement citations that are egregious and debilitating.  Considering the challenges our community faces, the last thing city officials should be focusing on are fines for tables in an easement area, for cleaning tables in a patio area and for selling flowers outside the market (and this is to name a few).  Seeing code enforcement officials routinely parked outside this market suggests that there is undeniably overt action by them to target HB Corner Market.  It is up to us, as a community, to help bring attention to their blatant abuse of power.  The voices of Suzanne, Ashley and Carly are not enough.  Sign this petition to let our city officials hear our collective voices, support HB Corner Market and demand that they end their harassment of this small business and focus their efforts on those areas of Huntington Beach that really need their attention.
