The Issue

In November 2025, Palestinian Christian leaders issued Kairos Palestine II: A Moment of Truth – Faith in a Time of Genocide, a prophetic and urgent call arising from lived suffering, moral responsibility, and deep faith. This document speaks from the heart of Palestine at a moment of unprecedented devastation, mass killing, forced displacement, and the systematic destruction of life, land, and hope.

Kairos II names the present moment with stark clarity: “we live now in a time of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement unfolding before the eyes of the world.” The authors describe this not as a temporary crisis or abstract conflict, but as a decisive and defining moment that demands a new stance of faith, truth, and responsibility. It challenges the global community to see and name these realities honestly, to recognize the grave violations of human dignity taking place, and to respond with a renewed commitment to justice, compassion, and theological integrity.

Rooted in Christian theology and ethics, Kairos II rejects all theologies that justify oppression, racism, apartheid, or genocide. It confronts distorted theologies and political narratives that sanctify violence or demand silence in the face of injustice. At the same time, it remains a document of hope; calling for repentance, accountability, justice, and a peace grounded not in power, but in truth and equality.

The document is addressed both to churches, but to the global community:

-To faith leaders who have remained silent or cautious,
-To institutions that benefit from or normalize injustice,
-To governments that enable violence through political, military, or economic support,
-To individuals who believe that faith and conscience demand action.

Palestinian Christians - the indigenous sons and daughters of the first Church, deeply rooted in this land and its history - are facing displacement, erasure, and existential threat. Their cry is not for charity, but for solidarity; not for sympathy, but for justice.

The Global Kairos for Justice coalition launches this petition to publicly endorse and amplify Kairos Palestine II and to transform its message into concrete action. Silence is no longer neutral. Faith without justice is empty. The time to act is now.

In response to Kairos Palestine II: A Moment of Truth – Faith in a Time of Genocide, the Global Kairos for Justice coalition affirms this document as a decisive Kairos moment that calls the global church and people of conscience to truth, repentance, and action. Standing with Palestinian Christians, GKJ endorses the call to move beyond silence and sympathy toward costly solidarity and justice, urging faith communities worldwide to translate theological conviction into concrete advocacy and nonviolent action for dignity, accountability, and peace.

By signing this petition, you affirm that:

- The suffering of Palestinians must be named truthfully and confronted courageously.
- Faith must stand on the side of the oppressed, not the powerful.
- Justice, accountability, and equal human dignity are prerequisites for any lasting peace.

This is a moment of truth; for Churches, for governments, and for all people of conscience worldwide.

The new Kairos document, is now available in 10 languages. The document represents the voices of Palestinian Christians who are urging for an end to the Palestinian long-standing struggle under occupation, settler colonialism, apartheid, genocide and ethnic cleansing, and striving toward a future of freedom in their own land together with all the inhabitants of the land in true peace and reconciliation founded on justice and equality.
