Consider alternative plans for Imber Court Trading Estate
Consider alternative plans for Imber Court Trading Estate
The Issue
You will be aware of the plans to re-develop the Imber Court Trading Estate, with plans to put 95 residences onto the site.
Leaving the short-term issues of the site turning into a building site for the next couple of years to one side, there has to be a concern over the impact that this development will have on the local community:
- Further demands on already extremely stretched local facilities such as schools, doctors and dentists
- Increased traffic flows on Orchard Lane, Esher Road, Ember Lane and all around the local area
- The plans currently look to add more than twice as many units onto a footprint that is less than half the size of the neighbouring Ember Farm estate. This will create a concentration that will definitely change the character of the area
For me, some development is inevitable and in the medium-term, welcome. The trading estate as it currently stands adds nothing to the area. However, the proposed plans feel like they go too far with the currently intended number of units to be built.
To this end, I ask that you sign this petition as proof that you do not support the plans as currently proposed. If we get more than 50 signatories (or more than 10 separate objections by household) the application will need to be discussed in an open forum, which gives us the chance to make a counter-proposal.
Please sign and share with your friends and neighbours locally.
Thanks
Toby
