Why this petition matters

Started by Virginia Rangel

The City of Houston has been planning a project with public input since 2019 that will make 11th street in the Heights safer for cars, pedestrians, and bikes. The proposal takes the road from two lanes in each direction to one lane in each direction and adds bike lanes. It also adds a "safe harbor" island at 11th and Nicholson where the bike path crosses. These changes will slow traffic on 11th street and will allow neighbors to cross 11th street more safely.

The mayor has stopped this project but with your support, we can get the project going again. As residents, we have the power to make the Heights safer. Please sign our petition and consider emailing the mayor and city council members.
