Support a Safe, Inclusive Skating Facility in Savannah

Star Castle, Savannah’s only indoor skating rink, is closing and with it, generations of skaters are losing their home.
Roller skaters. Derby players. Kids learning balance and independence. Adults reclaiming joy on wheels.
For decades, Star Castle has been a refuge that fostered community, creativity, growth, healthy movement, self expression, and multi-generational connection. It is where our youth and adult derby teams practice and host bouts.
Now, with the building confirmed to be sold and repurposed, Savannah’s skating community faces an urgent need: a safe, accessible, and inclusive space to skate.
This effort is not just about a sport, it’s about community health, youth engagement, and preserving a culture that brings people together across generations and identities.
Sign this petition if you:
-Want to keep roller skating alive in Savannah and support the creation of a non-profit by and for the skating community
-Believe youth and adults deserve a safe space to skate
-Support public-private partnerships that reflect community needs
-Want to see our city invest in joy, connection, and movement
Together, we can build a skating sanctuary for Savannah, but we need your voice to make it happen.
