Many residents in the Nelson Ave Ext area have struggled for years with poor water quality, expensive treatment systems, equipment failures, and concerns about the long-term reliability of private wells.

With the replacement of the Nelson Ave Ext bridge scheduled for 2027, we believe now is the right time for the Town of Malta to explore whether public water could be a realistic option for our neighborhood.

We are asking the Town Board to include funding in the 2027 budget for a feasibility study to determine:

Whether public water can be extended to our area
Potential routes and infrastructure requirements
Estimated project costs
Potential costs to homeowners
A feasibility study does not commit anyone to a future project or expense. It simply provides the information needed for residents and Town officials to make informed decisions.

The Town Board is expected to vote on the 2027 budget in the fall of 2026. By signing this petition, you are supporting the completion of a feasibility study so our community can finally get answers.
