Eddie O'Brien was only 15 years old when he was arrested in 1995 for a murder he has consistently claimed he did not commit. His case was manipulated by a politically motivated district attorney who sought to change juvenile laws using the now debunked super predator theory. This theory, which suggested that certain juveniles were incapable of rehabilitation and thus should be tried as adults, has been widely discredited by numerous studies (source: American Psychological Association).

Furthermore, exculpatory evidence that could have potentially cleared Eddie's name was disregarded during his trial. This evidence is detailed in Margo Nash’s book “The Politics Of Murder”. The use of such tactics raises serious concerns about the fairness and integrity of our justice system.
