Please sign on to the Rate Payer Protection 2 Year Moratorium Bill: New York Needs to Look Before We Leap 

Governor Hochul is proposing 5 large nuclear reactors, estimated to be $20 billion each, or $100 billion based on the last 2 reactors built in America in the last 30 years. 

Nuclear energy is astronomically expensive, generates highly radioactive waste dangerous for over 700 million years, and unsafe as there is always the risk of a reactor meltdown like Three Mile Island (U.S. 1979),  Chernobyl (Soviet Union / Ukraine 1986), and Fukushima (Japan 2011). 

A 2-year moratorium will provide the time for a critical first step recommended by the NY State Climate Action Council - a NYS Legislative-led independent assessment of the financial, health, environmental and safety aspects of nuclear energy. 

Why Should New Yorkers Fund Nuclear Energy When Renewable Energy Is Affordable, Safe and Clean?
