This vision is about creating a recreational opportunity for the citizens of Nanaimo and beyond & to build an opportunity for recreational tourism in the hub of Vancouver Island. A Gondola or Tram will not only create year-round employment through both operations and commercial opportunity but will help put Nanaimo on the map. This project will open up new horizons for outdoor recreation : Mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing, paragliding, cross-country skiing, sightseeing, or simply relaxing on top of a beautiful coastal mountain from a west coast restaurant or outdoor viewing platform.
