Speaker: Anne Hulick, JD, MS, RN.  Anne is the Connecticut Director of Clean Water Action, a national environmental advocacy organization working on protecting our waters, public health, addressing climate change and mobilizing grassroots advocacy for policy change.

Anne started her career as a registered nurse in critical care and spent 12 years as a nursing director.  She holds a BSN from the University of Hartford and a MS in administration from UCONN. 

Her concern that the healthcare system focused on curing disease with inadequate attention to how human impacts on the environment impair health, fueled her passion to combine nursing, health policy and the law.  Anne pursued a law degree from Western New England College School of Law and was admitted to the CT Bar in October 2007. Prior to joining Clean Water Action, Anne worked as an attorney, served as the environmental health coordinator for the CT Nurses’ Association and was an environmental analyst in the Air Bureau at DEEP. 

Anne is a co-chair of the Policy and Advocacy Workgroup for the national Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments, coordinates the Coalition for a Safe and Healthy CT and has lectured and written widely on environmental health topics.
