My name is Hannah. I’m a Co-op member and animal lover. And I have had enough of Co-op’s cruelty to animals.
I felt so let down when Co-op bosses ignored the landslide vote to stop selling Frankenchickens at the Co-op AGM in May.
Then I saw the new investigation from Open Cages showing the heartbreaking suffering on Co-op’s Frankenchicken farms. Seeing Co-op’s cruelty exposed by the BBC, the Daily Mail, the Independent… that made me feel even more sad and angry.
I knew I had to do something to help these animals.
And then I thought, Co-op is a supermarket owned and run by its members... Why not show Co-op bosses just how strongly we feel about this cruelty and their awful response to it?
So I’m organising the biggest-ever Co-op members' protest outside Co-op HQ in central Manchester.
This peaceful and powerful gathering will take place this Saturday (19th August) at midday. Dozens of others have already signed up and I’d like you to join me too.

I know that many of you who live far away from Manchester will be unable to make it to the protest. Instead will you help to spread the word online about how Co-op treats animals?

Whether or not you can make it to the protest, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for animals. The bosses of Co-op and other big supermarkets are so out of touch with how people really feel about animals. I hope that our actions can help to remind them of the power of compassion.
Yours,
Hannah Dickson, Co-op member and animal lover
