The reason for this petition is to appoint Coach De’Vondre Bazemore as the head football coach for Smithfield High School.  Coach Bazemore has demonstrated passion, knowledge and understanding of the game with every practice and game.  He is committed to our school, community and the football program.  His desire for the football program’s well being is also a reason we consider him to be a vital coach.  The student-athletes need a coach like Coach Bazemore leading them.Without the stability of leadership, our programs will continue to struggle.  The lack of the program’s success can be attributed to a lack of sound leadership.  For this reason, there is no better candidate for the head coach position than De’Vondre  Bazemore.  He sets a great example on and off the field.  He strive to help the student-athletes improve in life not just football.  His undeniable energy and ethical integrity makes them want to be apart of the program.  He makes them want to love their teammates and everyone around.  Many of the students and student-athletes look up to him already.  He is an awesome mentor; one they can always count on.  He is a leader who will take the program to new heights; equip the student-athletes with great opportunities and life skills such as commitment, leadership and discipline.  We ask you to strongly consider hiring Coach Bazemore as the new head football coach as he will undoubtedly allow the program to thrive.
