On the Domus website you'll find the words "Domus builds loving relationships with young people facing adversity, empowering them to pursue their path to self-sufficiency. Putting young people first by serving disengaged and disconnected youth in Connecticut." Loving relationships will be the cornerstone of our recovery from these two pandemics we are currently facing and they are the foundation for success. No one reaches the disconnected students the way our Domus advocates do. There is no statistic that can measure the gravity of their influence on our students. Anyone who has spent time around a student who enters the program, knows they will begin to gain confidence, change their behaviors, and find joy in school. Without the tireless work of our Domus advocates some of our students would remain disconnected and never find their way or their voice. 

Domus is a fantastic program that supports our students, engages with them and connects them to their teachers, builds confidence and strength in them, and helps foster success in school and beyond. Countless students have joined Domus and changed their entire attitude towards their education. Young people in the program have matured into incredible leaders who want to give back to their peers. Our Domus advocates do not get even close to the recognition they deserve. 

Stamford is looking to cut this program from our schools in a time when it is needed the most. Please share your experiences with Domus below.
