Save the Loveland High School Mascot

The Issue

With everything going on in the world right now, there are some that feel this is the time to change the Loveland High School Mascot of an Indian to something less "offensive"   To give some history on this Mascot.  In 1926 the Student Body chose the Indian "for its bravery, loyalty and patriotism".  Throughout the years there have been calls to have the Indian removed.   In 2015 there were rumblings the State was going to mandate some of the schools mascots be changed.  Loveland High was proactive in working with the Sioux Tribe out of South Dakota to ensure they were representing the Mascot in a respectful way (hence the removal of the Indian head on the gym floor).   It is time we as a Community took a stand against this and show that we do love and respect our Indian Mascot.
