Greetings fellow Volunteer Park Lovers, Thank you for speaking out for our beloved park. The Protect Volunteer Park team is continuing to organize resistance to this rogue development project, focusing particularly on the following hurdles: Landmarks Preservation Board approval would be required. Seattle Board of Park Commissioners will have influence. Seattle City Council would have to modify the single-family zoning. After all the December meetings, the facts have not changed much. The project has hurdles to overcome, but also has institutional momentum. Seattle Dept. of Construction and Inspection is still accepting letters with our environmental concerns asking them to require a full Environmental Impact Statement on the project.
