At the Dec. 10th Seattle Art Museum public meeting about the proposed Seattle Asian Art Museum expansion in Volunteer Park, SAM and members made it very clear they don’t care about the park as something to preserve, but rather as landscape for their museum. They want what they want. The city government is giving a total of $29 million and museum donors another $20 million to this project. Meanwhile this disrespects our Landmark Park, our city green space, public involvement in decision making and takes money away from other city issues like helping the homeless. Museum supporters do not see the living spirit of the art already existing in the park, which they are set on diminishing.
Please share this petition and get others to sign to help stop the madness. If you can please come to Dec. 15th meeting listed in our previous post on website.
Thank you,
