Can anyone give me a valid reason that our girls, daughters, young ladies wear such short (I wouldn't even call them shorts, because even shorts are longer than these) bottoms that they wear for volleyball? I can give you many reasons why they shouldn't, but I didn't play it either. I'm looking for possible performance enhancement or anything you'd say is valid. Here are a few of my reasons or statements that I am thinking... Are they to increase attendance to a sport that probably doesn't bring in the most revenue? Is it to deter larger girls from even attempting because it would be even smaller and more revealing than on the others? Is it to sexify them? Maybe appeal to child sex offenders? Your dress code would NOT permit them in school because they'd be too short; no where near the "tip of your fingers length" rule that you impose on the rest of the students.
I'd like to add that I notice they hit the floor kind of often, so they allow more floor burn and invitation for infections into the body. I guess I could understand if they were bike short length spandex-ish or tighter fitting, but they look like glorified underwear, and I wouldn't take my child out in public to ram around in her underpants, why would you want your daughter/niece/granddaughter etc. to wearing shorts that short?
I'm going to write a letter to the school board once I get some valid explanations.
