Because all children are entitled to a fair and just education. There should be alternate forms of punishment for children such as in school suspension, after school suspension or " Saturday School". Out of School suspension is a temporary vacation for students, getting out of the place they obviously didnt want to be. If a child would be required to attend school at an undesirable period of time maybe they would change their mind about their negative actions. Parents are still required to instill punishment at home and together,parents and school can change the students behavior. Out of school suspension leaves all the responsibility on the parent and school is not involved with changing the childs behavior, teaching the child that when mistakes are made the proper punishment is to shun the person making a mistake. Out of school suspension also causes the child to have unexcused absenses on their record, while affecting grades because they miss tests and are not allowed to make them up. This is a cruel punishment for children, they are not old enough in elementary school or middle school to understand the consequences of their bad behavior and how it will impact their future. There are no bad children, just bad guidance.
