Donna ISD Recognize Employee Commitment and Dedication- Pay Us What We Deserve.

The Issue

Whereas Donna ISD employees have worked diligently and gone above and beyond to adjust and coordinate all types of learning whether it be in person, hybrid or online to ensure all curriculum goals are met. They continue to identify methods to provide educational support at every level to all students and to meet all the demands of this diverse way of working with the students.  Whereas we also believe that all school employees play an instrumental in the education process when they help provide a safe and reliable school environment for the students.  

On behalf of all the employees we petition the Donna ISD Superintendent and School Board of Trustees to consider and approve a salary increase of $2400 for all teachers and a $1.50 per hour for all hourly employees for the 21-22 school year from the regular budget, and a retention stipend of $1500 to be paid in June 2021 and $1500 for all employees from the ESSER funds.  

In addition, all teachers who complete the reading academies required under HB3 be paid $1000 upon completion. These requirements have caused a significant and excessive increase to professional development time demands.

We are all in this together and we have continued our dedicated service and commitment with Donna ISD.   Show us how much we are valued and appreciated by helping us rebuild our lives again as we see the end to this pandemic.
