"The accused student is suspended from the institution effective January 29, 2024 through May 15, 2024.” This suspension is automatically accompanied by the assignment of a Persona Non Grata status. Individuals that are suspended may not at any time for any purpose, be present on the campus of Purchase College, State University of New York, or be present at any college sponsored event on or off campus. No invitation from any person supersedes the Persona Non Grata status. If they are found on the campus or at a sponsored event, they are subject to arrest for criminal trespass.
"The accused student is on disciplinary probation, effective May 15, 2024 through May 15, 2025.” Disciplinary probation is a period during which the student may be required to fulfill specified conditions or obligations, with the understanding that failure to meet the requirement of the probation or further infraction of college policy may result in more severe sanctions, including suspension or expulsion from the college. Individuals on disciplinary probation are not eligible to hold office in any student group or organization; are not eligible for certain employment positions on campus; and are not eligible to participate in study abroad programs. This sanction may limit student participation in other college activities or programs as determined by individual college units. Additionally, students who are simultaneously on academic and disciplinary probation are not eligible for campus housing.
The first thing that came through my head was,
"what about the man who physically assaulted? why does he still have his position despite everything that happened?"
During the hearing, no matter how many times I tried to clarify and tell them that it was not a simple tussle but that he put his hands on me and attacked me, they ignored it. They prioritized the fact that I took down property and made the decision based on that alone.
I'm literally just an ally, and look at everything that went down, from the discrimination I've had to face on campus, being called a terrorist supporter to listening people say that Palestinians are bad, to the punishments put on me by the college because I stood against white supremacy. This clearly isn't ok.
Could you imagine what message this brings out to the people who are actually Palestinian? To the people who's whole identity is revolved all around this? They are constantly reminded of destruction and genocide of their beloved country yet reminded how much their voice does not matter here by the authorities. My situation is an example of that.
We cannot let this slide.
We students cannot let this slide.
We the oppressed cannot let this slide
We the people cannot and will not let it slide.
There is still hope. There always has been hope, I mean look at how far we've come. Because of your help, two of the fabricated charges were dropped!
Like I said I'm gonna keep fighting, no matter the outcome.
I have been working with people to fight for an appeal.
And even then, nows our chance to make change. Its time to show these people who uphold this white supremacist ideology of zionism that it is not tolerated here.
Recently news came out that a 23 year old Palestinian-American man was stabbed in the chest by a white supremacist in Austin, Texas. Sources say that the man (Bert James Baker) screamed the n-word before attacking him.
Are we going to allow this type of hate go rampant against them? Do you finally see the correlation? As a black man, I definitely wont. History proves over and over again the similarities of our struggles and discrimination, yet we was there for each other despite that, from the Black Panther Party Presence in Palestine to the George Floyd murals, rallies, and Palestinian support during the BLM era in the U.S. So I definitely wont stop being a voice, especially this black history month.
We the people gotta be a voice.

"I'm not anti-Semitic at all, but I am anti-Zionist. I don't believe they have the right, after 3,000 years, to reclaim the land with western bombs and guns on biblical injunction."
- James Baldwin
I call on my Palestinian and other Arab brothers and sisters to be a voice. My heart feels the pain that y'all are going through.
I call on my melanted kings and queens to be voice, especially in honor of black history month, as their struggle is connected to ours, something the white man don't want us to know about.
I call on the indigenous community to be a voice.
I call on the queer community to be a voice.
I call on my latine family, carribean to south america to join hands with them wether its boricuas, quisqueyanos, cubanos, mexicanos, and everyone in between and be a voice.
I call on the asian community to be a voice.
I call all oppressed people and allies to be a voice.
Together we are strong.
May all opressed people be free.
Free Palestine till its backwards.
"Imperialism is over there in the Middle East crushing the Arab peoples, that’s Zionism. Imperialism is everywhere.. we must stand in imperialism’s way."
- Thomas Sankara
This is why our solidarity with Arab Palestine is total. It is not a question of race or religion for us. Israel was born in an imperialist context and with imperialist objectives that we condemn.
- Ahmed Sékou Touré
“It would grieve me to know you are putting yourself in danger (soul danger) by performing in an apartheid country that is being boycotted by many global conscious artists. You were not born when we, your elders who love you, boycotted institutions in the US South to end an American apartheid less lethal than Israel’s against the Palestinian people.."
- Alice Walker
"Israel was created by Western imperialism and maintained by Western firepower. We support the Palestinians' just struggle for liberation one-hundred percent."
- Huey P. Newton, who had established contact and solidarity networks since 1969.
