Toronto, Ontario has a unique opportunity to lead the rest of the North America in making a real contribution to tackling climate change using its natural resources.
Sunwincor International and our partners are actively engaged in planning and developing an exciting and ecologically balanced wind farm. The Leslie Wind Farm will be located on the Outer Harbour East Headland at the base of Leslie Street adjacent to Toronto, Ontario
Ontario's electricity supply requires a mix of generation sources and the more that can be produced from renewable sources such as wind means the less that has to be produced using fossil fuels. Wind energy is intermittent, but the Ontario electrical system is designed to cope with this, as well as the instantaneous failure of transmission lines or the sudden shutdown of a nuclear, gas or coal-fired power plant. Every unit of electricity produced in a wind farm reduces the amount of electricity that has to be produced in a conventional power plant.
It is important that mankind takes immediate steps to protect our planet and wildlife through the reduction of CO2. The greatest threat to birds is climate change. As with other Ontario projects sited within Important Bird Areas, the Leslie Wind Project will employ the best bird and bat mitigation technologies and practices to ensure minimal impact and interference with wildlife. By following the strict guidelines of the Ontario Ministry of Environment as framed by the Ontario Green Energy Act, the Leslie Wind Farm will be a world class leader of environmental sustainability.
Your support is needed to demonstrate that the people of Toronto are committed to improving the environment and saving our planet. Please sign this petition to lend your voice in making Toronto a leader in Safe, Reliable, Green Energy.
