NBTNMKK show was axed in October 2012 because it could not sustain TRP charts and bias decision by Colors TV to not axe Kairi but NBT. This show got Season2 and was saved only and only because of fan-power. Fans in huge numbers demanded the show be saved because they loved Kunal-Aakanksha-Ashnoor and all other cast of NBT-Season1. Viewers were deeply connected to the story of Mohan-Megha. Each character and Juna Mohalla was like real people and place for NBTians. NBT-Season1 was a Classic and unique show and had its own specialty. A story that not only set an example for television industry but made you rethink about Indian Society. This was one of the best shows we have seen on Indian Television in the past 2 decades. Back in Sep-Oct 2012, viewers signed online petitions, phoned and emailed Colors TV, Sunshine Production, News Channels, Media and “tied knots in their rumaal” only to save their beloved show. And the miracle happened! NBTNMKK got it's Season2 on 14th January 2013. The happiness of NBTians knew no bounds. However Alas!!! The love-birds of Juna Mohalla have now become 40+ years old, they have lost their son, and they separate for 12 long years for reasons which did not seem logical for most of the viewers. The tremendously talented Ashnoor who created the magical multi-dimensional character of Chawanni is now appearing in flashbacks. Nanhi has now become expressionless Navika, who does not know what she is doing in life. The chirpy word “Spiderman” now sounds as rusty “Sautela Baap”. Guru who was Mohan’s best friend, brother, philosopher and not to mention ‘biwi’ is nothing more than a baby-sitter to Rimjhim. Jiji Bua who was Megha’s soul has merely any importance in the show. A very irritating character, Beera, with North-Indian fake-accent, monkey-like behavior, with beard, jacket and bike is brought into the show as a Hero. While Season1 saw some really negative characters like Deenanath/Rastogi/Pratik who at times brought us goosebumps, Daddaji, fails to leave any impression. Daddaji is nothing more than an old man, losing his power over his people, as neither his grandson Beera, nor his favorite boy Munna listens/obeys to his orders. Multiple characters like Daadi, Ragini, Munna, who do not do any good, have been added to the show. Fortunately Season2 offered very talented Manish Gandhi, whom viewers loved as Addu. However to the disappointment of viewers, it is being said that Manish is not the real Addu, but Munna/Kanwar is indeed the real Addu. Magical music of NBT that created a legend like “Tere ishq me...” is now ‘not-even-rhyming’ song “Raaste hai wohi”. The very soft “De re na na” has now become loud “Dhoom ta na, de re dhoom ta na”. While Season1 had detailed logical explanation for every happening, Season2 totally lacks any logic. Megha lives in Vyas house after separating from Mohan. While it is understood that Megha continues to take the hurting taunts of Renu Bhabhi due to her financially difficult situation, hence cannot afford a separate house for herself and Navika; Navika on the other hand purchases a Royal Enfield Bike (that costs more than a LAKH) for Beera as “Pyar ka pehla shagun”. Even the credit of Navika again becoming Chawanni for Mohan and finding Addu is given to Beera. Repetitive comparison of Mohan and Beera. Every scene of the blooming love of Navika-Beera is a copy of epic scenes of Mohan-Megha. CVs are now out of original creative ideas for the new couple. Mohan ran NAM foundation for orphan children while Megha worked as a Kathak Teacher. After Mohan-Megha have confronted, nobody knows what happened to NAM Foundation and weather Megha has left her job at school. Mohan-Megha still live separately. They cry every, literally every day! They appear on the show for just 5-6 minutes. The focus is now on the so called Hero-Heroine of the show, Navika-Beera. While we understand that parallel tracks are important for a show to increase episodes and to run, it definitely does not mean sidelining the real Protagonists of the show. Mohan-Megha are used as props. The makers have used the fans of Kunal-Aakanksha to garner whatever TRP they have been so far, however in turn; they have only marketed Navika-Beera. Fans of real NBT (Mohan-Megha) are feeling betrayed and being played with their emotions. Viewers who would literally watched ALL repeat telecasts of Season1 and continued to watch it again on YouTube, now hardly watch the show at 9:30pm and seldom skip the episodes completely. What could be more shameful for the show that Kunal-Aakanksha both gave intimation that they are not happy with the show, could not remember even a single dialogue from Season2 and to top it, would prefer that their characters die in the show!
During Season1, viewers requested, demanded and even pleaded to stop the disaster of Mohan’s marriage to Ridhima. However the makers did not pay any heed. This time again viewers have been requesting, demanding to bring back focus on Mohan-Megha, however the makers have turned deaf ear. They have indeed killed the viewers. We hate this decision the makers. We had so many expectations from this show, but all we got was disappointment. NBTNMKK was much more than just a TV show for us. Today all loyal viewers wish that Kunal-Aakanksha leave NBTNMKK and pick up a new show/movie where their skills and talent is appreciated and given a chance to grow.
