Hi Everyone,

Tomorrow (Tuesday 17th September) is the deadline for the e-petition to be handed into council by C.O.B. We are only five signatures away from 900. Would you all mind sharing it again to give it one last push - maybe we can get it over the line and capture 1000 signatures?!

As we have all been working hard at completing our detailed submissions for council, it has only further highlighted how inappropriate and terribly impactful this build will be for this site.

The scale of the building alone has been completely mis-represented in the media by this developer. There are many rooms in the plan for specialised purposes. I did a count and found 69 rooms in the two levels, including 13 bathrooms, 9 bedrooms, 13 common spaces, 3 kitchens, 6 offices, and 13/terraces/balconies - it looks like a huge block of apartments!

It's a vulnerable build with a high to very high bushfire risk but with only a single entry/exit! Imagine six ambulances and fire trucks trying to get into a tight cul-de-sac, while all the residents and staff/volunteers are trying to get out. The wildlife wouldn't stand a chance as it would prove very difficult for the fire brigade to access their habitat to save it.

There are too many reasons to list against this development going ahead...

Thanks so much for your support! You have all helped to make a difference and we are so very appreciative.

Please share one more time so we can give council a clear message.

Warm regards,

Illuka Street and Surrounds Community.
