For folks around Greenwich, I want to say that our outdoor dining experience last night was amazing.

I understand the world appears to be ending — but sometimes we can take a break from that and focus on the positive.

My family had a great time. We ate out in the street, at a table far from anyone else’s (at Harvest).

All the people there were smiling, taking photos, sending to friends & family!

Mediterranneo was nearly at capacity. Putnam had take-out plus several tables. More restaurants will now reopen and acquire more outdoor tables (and permits) now that they see the demand, and they will set up farther into the street as they are allowed. Takes time, but not long.

There was a street painter (oil paint on canvas, not the graffiti kind) making paintings as they do in Paris — in front of Bistro Versailles (see the attached photo).

Most of the tables on the Avenue were full but there were still walk-ins — we had no reservation but we got the last table with no wait at Harvest.

The scientific research indicates that the virus spread is minimized outdoors and at distance.

Weather was perfect last night. Looks like rain on-and-off next few days but also periods of clear.

When the kids eventually got restless they could run around in the open street — which had been fully closed off to cars.

I walked down the Avenue and had a long conversation with an art gallery owner.

After dinner, we all got ice cream from Meli-Melo and ate it in the street. The kids loved it.

Everything was great, for a couple hours.
