We stand with Prof Izzeldin Osman

We stand with Prof Izzeldin Osman
The Issue
In a politically motivated decision, the Sudan University of Science and Technology has summarily dismissed without legal grounds the veteran scientist:
Professor Izzeldin Mohamed Osman, a former Vice Chancellor of the university (1994-2002) and current Emeritus Professor of Computer Science.
Professor Osman is widely credited with modernizing the Sudan University of Science and Technology and recognised as a renowned scholar who laid the foundations of computer science education and information technology in the Sudan.
We, the undersigned, demand the administration of Sudan University of Science and Technology to immediately withdraw this outrageous decision and reinstate Professor Izzeldin Mohamed Osman with immediate effect.
We also demand that the University unreservedly apologize to Professor Izzeldin Mohamed Osman for any harm or malice caused to his standing by this unjust decision.
Professor Osman is a scientist whose knowledge, experience, skills and contributions are direly needed by students and citizens alike in a developing country such as the Sudan.
