Subsidize Domestic Services: Support Working Families and Revitalize Welfare
The Issue
As hard-working, college-educated, middle-class families, we are hitting a breaking point. We pay the highest share of taxes, fueling public welfare systems, yet we receive zero support when it comes to managing our own rising cost of living, child care, and domestic services.
Meanwhile, the current welfare system often creates an unintended dependency, discouraging work among low-income individuals. It is time for a common-sense reform.
We propose a "Subsidized Service Voucher" program (inspired by successful European models like Belgium's Service Vouchers):
Create a public platform connecting low-income job seekers with middle-class families needing domestic, care, or technical help.
Instead of direct cash handouts, the government subsidizes these services. Middle-class families pay a small fraction of the wage, and the government covers the rest using existing welfare budgets.
This is a win-win: It restores the incentive to work, builds career ladders, and provides crucial, affordable relief to the squeezed middle class.
Sign this petition to demand that our representatives reshape welfare into a dynamic, mutually beneficial system!
